Guatemala
Three major influences (Mayan, Spanish and modern) are visible throughout the country, including its cosmopolitan capital city, Guatemala City. Historic Antigua, founded in 1541, retains much of the splendor of its colonial architecture. A stop in Guatemala can be added to a Costa Rican tour.

  Costa Rica
This small country's impressive variety of climatic regions, including rain forests and cloud forests rich with exotic flora and fauna, has made it the birthplace of ecotourism. Its cultural and musical traditions, the warmth of its people, and fabulous beaches on the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea make it a popular destination, especially for a winter or spring tour.

Puerto Rico
This modern, progressive country retains its Old World charm and hospitality. Many buildings and monuments date back to the Spanish conquistadors. Its strong, eclectic music tradition has African and European (especially Spanish) influences melded into a unique mix. Puerto Rico's tropical ecosystem offers surprising options for exploration: the 3rd largest underground cave system on earth; the only rainforest in U.S. territory; nature reserves; mountains and beaches.

Brazil
With its rich and varied musical tradition, including choral singing, music lovers could make Brazil a lifetime study! There are many other joys to discover: the charm and friendliness of the people; spectacular scenery from Rio's beaches and green mountains, to the mighty Amazon and its rainforests; some of the New World's oldest cities, and one of the world's newest cities, Brasilia. Visitors can learn of the native culture, the colonial history and the great diversity of the Brazilian people. And they will hear music everywhere.

Argentina
European influences can be found everywhere in the art, architecture and lifestyle of one of Latin America's most developed and sophisticated countries. Elegant Buenos Aires provides an excellent base for discovery. Traditional folk music as well as the romantic, mournful music of the tango is heard throughout the country. A visit to an historic "Estancia" ranch in the Pampas will illuminate the life of the local "gauchos" (cowboys).

Slovenia
Throughout the centuries that Slovenia was a part of larger entities (Yugoslavia, the Hapsburg Empire), the arts served to define a national identity.  This EU member continues to have a rich cultural life, with award-winning musical ensembles comparable to the most developed European countries.  Located between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, the lively capital city of Ljubljana has a large student population, and boasts many galleries, museums, theatres, and performance venues.

Croatia
Europe's best-kept secret is quickly becoming an extraordinary tour destination. Croatia offers stunning landscapes, blue seas, golden Renaissance cities, friendly locals and a thousand years of history, while being less expensive and less crowded than many other countries. The entire walled city of Dubrovnik is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as is Plitvice Lakes National Park. While the bustling capital city, Zagreb, hosts international jazz and classical music festivals, a capella music is performed throughout the country.

Turkey
"East meets West" in Turkey, which straddles Europe and Asia. Its largest city, Istanbul, was the capital of 3 Empires (Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman). Its historic heritage spans 10,000 years. In the current democracy, Mosques stand beside Orthodox Churches; Roman temples crumble beside ancient Hittite ruins. Turkey also boasts some marvelous beach resorts. The friendly and hospitable Turkish people make the country truly unique.
